What is concept for Oil and Water separator?
Oil and water separator is a broad concept
There are many methods of oil and water separation, such as physical separation, chemical separation and electric floating separation.
Physical separation method is the use of the density difference between oil and water adsorption of physical phenomena such as the oil-water separation or filtering method, the main characteristic is not changing the chemical property of the oil and oil/water separation, mainly including gravity separation, filtration separation, coalescence separation, air flotation separation, adsorption separation, ultrafiltration membrane separation and reverse osmosis separation, etc.
Chemical separation is a method of putting flocculant or aggregation into oily wastewater, in which flocculant can agglomerate oil into gel and precipitate, and aggregation can agglomerate oil into gel and make it float, thus achieving oil and water separation.
Electric float separation is a physical and chemical separation method by introducing oily sewage into the tank equipped with electrodes, and separating oil drops by using bubbles produced by electrolysis in the process of rising, so as to realize oil and water separation.In addition, emulsified oil can be separated by activated sludge process (biochemical process).
Advantages of gravity separation method: simple structure, easy operation;
Disadvantages: oil can be separated only in free state, but not in emulsified state.Generally thought oil droplet diameter less than 50 m m is difficult to separate.
The gravity separation method can be divided into mechanical separation, static separation and centrifugal separation according to the different modes of action:
Mechanical separation method: the oily wastewater is allowed to flow through inclined plate, corrugated plate tube and filter, causing eddy current, turning and collision, so as to make the tiny oil particles gather into larger oil particles, and then float up through the effect of density difference, so as to achieve the purpose of separation.
Static separation method: store oily sewage in the cabin, under the action of simple gravity, make the oil naturally float up to achieve the purpose of separation.This method requires a longer time and a larger device and is difficult to use continuously.
Centrifugation method: the centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotating movement is used to separate oil and water under the action of centrifugal force and density difference. It is characterized by the short residence time of oil and sewage in the separator, so the separator is small in volume.
Centrifuge separation method, can use the water spinning separation method, that is, the separator body fixed, and so that the sewage flows along the tangential direction to separate the body, resulting in rotation.Also can use the device spin separation method, that is, the separator body high speed rotation, and the sewage in the body with high speed rotation.
